I'm 40def 10hp and I really enjoy merchanting. Not clan merchanting--just solo flipping. In case anyone doesn't know, flipping refers to the act of buying and selling relatively stable items through the GE for profit while NOT waiting for the items to go up. Basically, flippers profit from the 10% min-to-max margin of an item.

I flip mith and addy bars. The margin of profit from these items is relatively low (1-2%) so people with 50m or less are better off flipping iron/steel bars for higher profit margins. Of course, members can flip better items (i.e. cannonballs are 5% profit). I do mith/addy because I can spend more money on those and therefore profit more, as all bars have a buying limit of 10k per 4 hours.

While my GE offers are running, I also smith addy bars into addy plates. So I won't be surprised if I lose money overall

This thread keeps track of all my buy and sell offers through the GE. The main goal of this thread is to show people how mass-quantity flipping is done, and that flipping in this way only results in 1-2% profit instead of the expected 5+%. And losses do happen

I usually buy for 1gp above either market price or a multiple of 25, and I usually sell at 1gp below such values.

August 2: OK, Screw my bonus xp investment lol. Dumped my 34k (i think) water talismans into the ge for 7499 which was a little below mid. All sold by the next day. I made maybe 20-30m profit from those. Could've made more, but oh well. I didn't remember my wealth at that moment. (Lol, did this on Austin's bday, had no idea)

August 10: Well I guess my flipping blog starts here. I have a White Partyhat (transferred from main a few months ago *shh*) and about 250m cash to spend. Net worth = 729.5m
- Sold 38332 addy bars for a total of 118.8m, or at an average of 3099.6 each.
- Sold 38050 out of 51992 mith bars for a total of 60.8m, or at 1599 each.
- Put up a Buy offer for 50k mith bars at 1570 each
- Put up a Buy offer for 50k addy bars at 3002 each
Crossed my fingers and logged off for the day

- No addy bars bought
- 18406 mith bars bought for 28.9m
- offered to sell 32348 mith bars for 1674 ea, 21575 sold for 36.1m
- bought 10k addy bars 3096 ea
- offered to buy 40k more for 3051 ea
- offered to buy 50k mith bars 1606 ea

8/12:
- bought 40k addy 122m @ 3050 ea
- bought 50k mith 80.3m @ 1606 ea
- sold 31.7k out of 60.8k mith bars for 50.8m @ 1665 ea
- offered to buy 38.4k mith 1551 ea

8/13
- sold 50k addy 3045 ea (loss )
- offered to buy mith bars 1606 ea
- offered to buy 50k addy 3001 ea

8/14:
- 30k/40k mith bars bought 1606 ea
- all addy bought 3001 ea
- 2952 addy bars bought 2951 ea
- 3332 mith bars bought 1611 ea
- sold 40k addy 3015 ea
- offered to buy 40k mith and 40k addy for 1602 and 2951 each, respectively

8/15:
- no addy bars bought; 30k mith bought
- bought 20k addy bars 61m @ 3050 ea (morning-evening)
- got bored, tried my luck with runite
- 10k runite bars bought 17301 ea, also superheated 200 runite
- offered to sell 10.2k runite bars 17489 ea
- Price check tomorrow if all stuff sell

- all things sold. price check = 740.7m

Tried flipping runite ores/bars, I did make a few mill but had to change the buy & sell prices A LOT... didn't keep track of them :/---yes, runite ores and bars sell SUPER SLOWLY

but with my other slot:

8/17: bought and sold 30k addy bars 3075-3199 each; 3.72m profit

8/18-8/19: bought and sold 20k addy bars 3076-3104.5 each; 570k profit

8/20: bought 30k addy bars 3051 each and selling them for 3199 each

8/21: Addy bars don't buy at MAX... thanks to the hype over the upcoming bonus xp weekend
well gonna try runite bars, they still buy.
9650 runite bars bought 16901 ea
2930 of them sold for 17499 ea (yeah was taking advantage of people who were trying to buy out runite bars)

8/22: 1 runite bar bought at 16800 (test)
buying 8.8k runite bars at close to min... i'll just take a risk here
selling 6721 runite bars 16989 each

8/23:
bought 8790 runite bars for 144.35m at about 16422 each
sold 15510 runite bars 262.1m at about 16899 each

bought 6134 runite ore 85.9m at 14001 each
the last two offers were completed within 10 minutes lol... while most of my runite offers take hours to complete. looks like some people really do mass buy & sell runite

long time... haven't merched in a while cause i've been busy. well here's the last pc from me until i pick up merching again.

i just traded my main's phat for 350m from 40def. i had to transfer because phat street prices are so high that it's impossible to get one from the ge unless you snipe one 0.5 sec after ge update.

and what should i take a pic of?

when u borrow an item, if lender demands item back while u have a skill guide interface up then u keep the phat while interface is still up. u can't move though, as that closes the interface.

im not gonna update this every day, but keeping merches on my notes so i don't miss anything

and i don't really have a cash goal, just doing this for fun. i have enough for 99 smith without selling the phat anyway
